The first Loavara barrel came after a familiar weekend: a full tank, a slow puddle under the spigot, and another cheap fitting that had worked fine in the product photos. We had tried the rigid big-box drums and the fold-flat bags from marketplace listings. Same story — plastic threads, glue-only outlets, or bases that tipped when the tank was full on real yard slopes.
We built around one spec that does not negotiate: a dual brass O-ring outlet tested to 150 PSI — not a stamped plastic thread, not adhesive. Brass seats predictably against PVC when you torque it correctly, and O-rings give you a serviceable seal you can inspect. That is why every Loavara rain barrel ships with it, and why we back seams and outlets with a 2-year leak-proof warranty.

Loavara is deliberately small. We are not trying to be the everything-store for garden gadgets. We sell two things that belong together: collapsible rain barrels that fold flat off-season, and 20-gallon tree watering bags that release water at the root zone over hours instead of in one flood.
Our PVC is 1000D at 1.2 mm (620 gsm) — heavy enough to sit full through a summer, light enough to empty, dry, and pack away. The lid uses 316 stainless mesh at 0.5 mm holes so mosquitoes stay out without starving your overflow. We publish capacity, materials, and warranty boundaries on every SKU because "premium" should mean verifiable, not vibes.
We are honest about what we are not: we do not claim EPA WaterSense certification we do not hold. We do not invent lab results. Normal UV fading on outdoor PVC is not a defect — leaks at seams, the spigot, or fill port within the warranty period are.
